Cameron David represented Gauteng at the Karate South Africa (All styles) National Championships and won two national titles for individual kata and team kata.
He was then awarded Gauteng Provincial colours. Being ranked number 1 for individual kate (age 10-11), number 1 for team kata (age 7 – 13) and number 6 for kumite (age 10 – 11) in South Africa. He represented Gauteng at the following tournaments:
- Karate South Africa – League 1 held in Bloemfontein, winning gold for individual kata and silver for team kata.
- The Arnold Classic held in Sandton, winning silver for individual kata and gold for team kata. He was then selected to represent South Africa at the AUSC region 5 karate championships in Botswana, where he won gold for individual kata.
- SA Elite Championships, held in Durban winning silver for individual kata and bronze for Kumite.
