I must admit, there are a
number of fond memories that I experienced at St. Catherine’s as well as memories
that I will always treasure. The most sentimental of all of these would have
to be the family experience. The school was small and everyone knew everyone
with the teachers acting as our mothers away from home. |

I had a wonderful time in
the school for the first two years of my life. It was tremendous, the
foundation I have I know that I won’t have a problem in future. The sports I
enjoyed were soccer & swimming. Thank you to Mrs. Rheeder
& Mrs. De Mello Koch for being a part of my first school years of my
life. |

I left St. Catherine’s 5
years ago with a deep sense of pride and a great love for my primary school.
St. Catherine’s instilled in me a fantastic work ethic which I carry with me.
I also learned about friendship, respect, manners and compassion. In
everything I do, in the back of my mind is St. Catherine’s and my desire to
make you proud. |

My years at St.
Catherine’s were filled with adventures both in and out of the classroom.
These exploits have resulted in an extensive array of fond memories and friends.
St. Catherine’s started the foundation of my academics and with the guidance
of teachers like Mrs. De Mello Koch and Miss Gustavo,
I am now an engineering student at |

I spent 10 years at St.
Catherine’s – from Std 1 to Matric. Last year (2004 – the 40th
anniversary of my matric year), I managed to contact many of the girls who
had been at St. Catherine’s during my time there. It was wonderful to catch
up on their news as there were many with whom I had had no contact since
leaving school. My mother, Gwendolyn Mary Ryder (nee Smith), attended St.
Catherine’s when it was still in We all have fond memories
of the school. |

My primary school years
were the best! I still have contact with a friend I met at St. Catherine’s.
Both my brother and I went to St. Catherine’s It gave both of us a good
grounding for our future. I have done my Bsc and am
currently studying my PGCE, while teaching. |

Many years have passed since
I spent time in the halls of St. Catherine’s yet this is the place I most
often come back to in my memories as the place I spent some of the most
informative days in my schooling career. I always look at St. Catherine’s as
the foundation that has driven me to achieve academically .
I was only at the school 3 short years but I still feel it is my Alma Mater.
I’m sure that my favourite teachers have long since
left teaching, however, their spirits will remain
active in the halls and classrooms as they are active in my soul. |
